Why does Google sometimes rewrite my title tag?

Google rewrites titles when it considers them too long, stuffed with keywords, duplicated across pages, or a poor match for the query. Writing a unique, descriptive title under 60 characters reduces the chance of a rewrite.

Do desktop and mobile snippets show different lengths?

Yes. Mobile typically truncates titles and descriptions earlier because of narrower viewports, so test both. Pixel width matters more than character count since wide letters like W and M cut off sooner.

Will my brand name appear automatically in the SERP title?

Google often appends the site name to the title for the homepage and may do so for inner pages. Including your brand at the end of the title tag yourself gives you more control over the formatting.
